The service

We protect steel from the marine environment in two stages: first we prepare the surface, with techniques and equipment that minimize environmental impact, and then we apply the system that will protect it.

  • Surface preparation with Dustless Blasting, Gritblasting and Sponge Jet
  • Paint application by conventional and Airless methods, with certified personnel
  • Linings with resins, rubbers and protective polymers from leading manufacturers such as POLYCORP
  • Thermal linings for piping, equipment and tanks that handle high temperatures

Surface preparation

A coating lasts as long as the surface beneath it allows. We use state-of-the-art techniques and equipment for surface preparation, minimizing environmental impact.

Good to know

Dustless Blasting

Wet abrasive blasting: the abrasive is mixed with water before it leaves the nozzle, which suppresses dust and reduces heat and sparks.

Good to know

Gritblasting

Dry blasting with angular abrasive (grit). It removes rust, mill scale and old coatings, and leaves the anchor profile that the new coating needs to adhere.

Good to know

Sponge Jet

Abrasive embedded in sponge particles that flatten on impact and trap most of the dust and rebound. The media can be collected and reused several times.

Paints and coatings

We have certified personnel with experience in applying paint by conventional and Airless methods.

Good to know

Conventional spray

Compressed air atomizes the paint. It gives fine control of the finish and suits smaller areas and detail work.

Good to know

Airless spray

A pump forces the paint at high pressure through a small tip, without atomizing air. It allows thick films and high output on large surfaces such as hulls, decks and tanks.

Protective linings

We apply linings with resins, rubbers and protective polymers from leading manufacturers such as POLYCORP, guaranteeing durability and resistance.

Thermal linings

With more than 40 years of experience, we have taken an active part in engineering projects and in the application of thermal linings for piping, equipment and tanks that handle high temperatures.

Environmental care

We choose surface preparation techniques and equipment that minimize environmental impact. Tanzaca's certifications include RACDA, Venezuela's registry of activities capable of degrading the environment.

Reference standards

Reference standards commonly applied in the sector. They are listed for orientation and do not replace the specification of each project.

ISO 8501-1
Visual assessment of surface cleanliness: rust grades and preparation grades.
ISO 8503
Surface roughness characteristics of blast-cleaned steel.
SSPC-SP 10 / NACE No. 2
Near-white metal blast cleaning.
ISO 12944
Corrosion protection of steel structures by protective paint systems.
IMO PSPC
Performance standard for protective coatings in dedicated seawater ballast tanks.
